A Brave Story

When I came here to America, I thought I could do nothing, but when I came to BraveWorks, I became confident!

Last Friday, we celebrated 20 Project 658 graduates. Our graduating class represented Brave women from 10 different countries. During our graduation, we had a Project 658 alumni come and speak to our artisans. Below are the highlights of what she said.

“When I came to BraveWorks, it opened a new chapter. It has been helpful for me and my family too. My mom and sisters both participated in the BraveWorks artisan program with me. The program helped my mom who, in Afghanistan, would not go anywhere, but when she became a part of the BraveWorks family, she felt proud and happy to be around people. I love BraveWorks, it is an excellent program! The work that BraveWorks does is very important, especially for the refugee women like my mom, sister, and me. They provide great support for us, they help us become confident again. We are grateful! When I came here to America, I thought I could do nothing, but when I came to BraveWorks, I became confident. I am now working as a paralegal. Thank you BraveWorks for all your help and support!”
