Our Eliman spreader, handcrafted out of ethically-sourced cattle horn, is a must-have tool if you love to entertain! Use them to serve up your favorite dips, cheeses, jam, and more. 

The horn material gives them a unique look that your guests will love, and their sturdy design will help them last for get togethers for years to come. 

These spreaders are handmade by artisans who work with our friend and artisan group leader, Eliman. Eliman works outside Kampala, Uganda, collecting discarded horn that would otherwise be thrown away, turning them into beautiful gifts and home goods. He employs women and families, including disabled workers, to empower them to overcome generations of poverty.

Your support of Eliman’s work helps him to pay rent on both his workshop and home, support his wife and children, and helps his seven artisans also pay their rent and provide shelter for their families.

• * Our artisans in Uganda pride themselves in sustainability, using discarded horns from the meat industry, contributing to a circular economy.  These horns would otherwise be discarded and could potentially damage the soil for future crops, but instead they provide income for artisans living in extreme poverty.
